The Cleikum Club is Back
Created by Sir Walter Scott over 200 years ago in the Cleikum Inn Peebles, the Cleikum Club was hosted by the formidable Meg Dodds. Now resurrected by Carol Wright and Neil Butler,the Cleikum Club provides food for thought with a unique Stravaign four course dinner punctuated by debate, performance and presentations.

Members of the Club will debate the issues of the day in convivial surroundings with presentations drawn from the arts and sciences,from every walk of life. It will celebrate inspiring thought, good food and good drink. Polymaths, entrepreneurs, free thinkers, iconoclasts and the passionate are all welcome. The Cleikum Club appears at Stravaigin on the first Thursday bi-monthly. Its name refers to Meg Dods’ hostelry, the Cleikum Inn in Peebles, famous for its superb food and hosting the gatherings of the Cleikum Club which counted Sir Walter Scott among its members.
For those of you desperate to get up on the soapbox and give us your angle on a topic, we’d be delighted to hear your raison d’être.
